This package contains the typical family car of the 1960’s and 70’s. Starting with the Austin A40 followed by the Austin 1100 and Morris 1300. The Austin A40 mark 1 had a square radiator grill set between the headlights. I have used a colour card of the period.

The mark 2 Austin A40 had the wrap around radiator grill. Apart from that the basic A40 “Farina” look was retained. We had one, and I remember eating family picnics from the lifting rear window and dropdown boot.

The 1100 was actually made by BMC to a standard ADO16 design but badged by both Austin and Morris because they had separate dealerships ! This was the best selling car of the mid to late 1960’s.

The BMC 1300 was just an engine variation of the 1100. However, I always think of the 1300 as a “headmasters” car so I have modelled this as a four door version with plusher colours.
